Still
I am a human being drowning at sea
I am a human being
Drowning at sea
Swallowing feeling
The waves, unforgiving
Arresting my lungs
I am a stoic
Watching the scenes change
From the old hilltop rock, unmoved
Focused, like a hawk that rarely blinks
I am a wanderer
Walking in the valley
Raising her eyes to the unending sky
I am
The trees roots that hold down the ground
The leaves that breeze around
I am everything in between
Folding into the unseen
I am a river that must flow
It is easier
More purposeful
To be quiet and still,
Listening
There is too much choreography
And the moments barely last
For me to speak of them
My words can no longer
Encapsulate time
And the hands that pushed, that forced
Have lost their power
I am a witness,
A single tone
A piece of the whole
And that is more,
Much more
Than enough

I'll sit on that rock with you
Great poem. I love it.
